Today there is a lot of discussion going on around the world about the multiple benefits of Green Tea and how it is helping us in curing many of our day to day problems. However,Green Tea is not any new hot beverage introduced to the Modern world but it is something that has thousands of years of glorious history. But a serious study on Green Tea began only a couple of decades ago.

Ancient Chinese,Japanese have identified the benefits of Green Tea long ago but the benefits of Green Tea were never propagated properly.

Before knowing about the many benefits of Green Tea,it is important to know about Green Tea first.

What Is Green Tea

All Tea plants irrespective of the places they grow belong to the species Camellia sinensis. But depending on the local climatic conditions and soil conditions there may be a difference in the structure of leaves of these plants.

There are three types of Tea namely Green,Black and Oolong and again depending on the method of processing of these leaves-the category, type and individual characteristics of Tea are determined.

Of all the types and categories of Tea,the type of leaves that are least processed is called Green Tea.

Green tea is made by steaming the just processed leaves for a brief period thus making them soft and preventing them from fermentation. These leaves are then rolled and spread out and later fired and then dried with hot air or in some cases pan fried in a wok until they become crisp. This results in a greenish-yellow tea with a flavor that is close to the taste of the fresh Tea leaf.

The Healing Power Of Green Tea

Since the leaves of Green Tea are less processed and least fermented, they retain their most powerful natural anti oxidants called Polyphenols that contain a catechin called epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG).That way Green Tea contains 240 to 350 milligrams of polyphenols in about three cups of Tea.Thus regular consumption of Green Tea boosts the overall immune system of the human body.

Further more, the anti oxidants in Green Tea work as a great preventive to diseases ranging from simple viral diseases to major diseases like Cardio Vascular Diseases,Diabetes,Periodontal disease,Osteoporosis and also to other life threatening diseases like Cancer. However,am not going to say that drinking Green Tea cures Cancer but it will definitely have a soothing effect on  the overall condition of the patient.

Other Benefits Of Green Tea

There is  a certain amount of Caffeine in Green Tea but it is only half the amount of what is contained in Coffee. This Caffeine in Green Tea gives instant energy to its consumer and this energy also appears quite natural to him/her when consumed. However, those who are skeptical about the Caffeine content in Green Tea may have the option of choosing decaffeinated Green Tea.

Finally, the rich supply of Polyphenols in Green Tea not only protects the heart but also strengthens the heart.

Benefits Of Green Tea In Women

Surprisingly in a study conducted in Japan a few years ago it is found that benefits of Green Tea are found more in women then in men.Around forty thousand men and women aged between forty and seventy across North Eastern Japan were chosen to test the benefits of Green Tea.

They consumed three to five cups of Green Tea for a few years and then the  following findings were noticed in women.

>The risk of dying from any cause was lowered by 23%

>The risk of dying from Cardio Vascular Diseases was lowered by 31%

>And the risk of dying from stroke or cerebral hemorrhage was lowered by 61%

Benefits Of Green Tea In Men

After the same test the following interesting findings were noticed in men

> The risk of dying from any cause was lowered by 12%

> The risk of dying from Cardio Vascular Diseases was lowered by 22%

> And the risk of dying from stroke and cerebral hemorrhage was lowered by 42%

Other Important Studies On Benefits Of Green Tea

Amazing Green TeaAccording to an article published in the European Journal Of Nutrition a few years ago,Green Tea is healthier in many ways than many other health drinks or beverages including Water.Green Tea not only revitalizes and rehydrates like water but also supplies a great amount of Flavonoids, Polyphenools and an essential amount of Caffeine that gives instant energy to the consumer.A justified comparison.

A Japanese study states that regular consumption of Green Tea lowers the risk of death due to any cause or even due to a cardiac problem.

There are thousands of studies contained in the PubMed database about the amazing benefits of Green Tea and the same database am sure will have more findings accumulated in the near future.

An extensive research is still going on in scientific laboratories across the world to know further benefits of green Tea.

Surprisingly,as the study goes deeper Scientists are coming up with newer findings and new cures every day.

Conclusion

There is no wrong time to do the right thing Friends. In order to enjoy unlimited benefits of Green Tea it is better to make a beginning today by taking Green Tea as a preventive than to wait for the day to use it as a curative.
